Three Students Share What Lumiere and Veritas AI Were Actually Like
I haven't posted in a while. Here's what's happening.
Since 2020, I've been building Lumiere Education with my co-founder and Harvard classmate, Dhruva Bhat. We met at a summer research program during our sophomore year. Six years later, we started Lumiere to expand access to research opportunities to students everywhere.
Since then, Lumiere has helped over 7,200 high school students conduct research with 1:1 mentorship from a PhD candidate. The originality of our students is honestly WILD. They've researched everything from personality changes caused by brain tumors to how pro-democracy activists use art to express themselves.
In 2021, Dhruva and I launched Veritas AI, a sister program that teaches high school students AI fundamentals. Our students are crushing it, applying AI to problems in medicine, finance, and more.
Recently, three of our students reviewed our programs across Lumiere and Veritas AI on Medium. Michael talked about how his Lumiere paper led to publication at a peer-reviewed conference when he was still in high school. Radha said her Lumiere research on labor economics prepared her to major in Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Ceaser didn't know anything about AI when he joined Veritas. But he built a real estate prediction model in 10 weeks.
A lot of high school students message me asking if Lumiere or Veritas is right for them. Honestly? Hearing from people who've done the program is one of the BEST ways to see if you'd like independent college-level research.
Huge thanks to Radha, Michael, and Ceaser for taking the time to write these reviews.
